LUMS

LUMS, through the Mahbub ul Haq Research Centre (MHRC), has established a collaborative framework with the Punjab Provincial Transport Authority (PPTA) to strengthen evidence-based policymaking and improve governance in Punjab's transport sector.

The partnership will support joint research and policy engagement on key transport issues, including regulatory frameworks, institutional effectiveness, and data-driven decision-making. By bringing together academic expertise and practical policy experience, the collaboration aims to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to contemporary transport challenges.

The framework was formalized at LUMS in the presence of Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost, and Dr. Farah Said, Executive Director, Mahbub ul Haq Research Centre. Representing the Punjab Provincial Transport Authority were Mr. Muhammad Hassaan Ahsan, Secretary, Mr. Sulaiman Majeed, Director Planning, and Mr. Saeed Ahmad, Planning Officer.

The collaboration reflects LUMS’ continued commitment to building impactful partnerships with public institutions that bridge research and practice. Through rigorous research and policy dialogue, the initiative aims to contribute to more effective, transparent, and evidence-based transport governance in Punjab.
