Welcoming New Faculty to the LUMS Community
The New Faculty Orientation (NFO) is an annual initiative by the Office of the Provost designed to welcome and support incoming faculty members as they begin their academic journey at LUMS. The programme ensures a smooth transition into the University by introducing new faculty to essential academic, administrative, and student support offices they will regularly engage with. It also aims to create a sense of belonging within the LUMS community and familiarise them with the University’s systems and values.
The 2025 Orientation featured sessions led by the Office of the Provost, Human Resources, LUMS Learning Institute (LLI), Office of Academic Advising and Student Success (OAASS), Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Office of Accessibility and Inclusion (OAI), Registrar’s Office (RO), and Information Systems and Technology (IST). These sessions introduced key resources, policies, and digital platforms that support teaching, research, student engagement, and well-being.
The event concluded with a networking dinner, offering new faculty an opportunity to interact with the Deans and engage with existing faculty members in an informal setting.
